I must share with you something special that came in my email. An artist, John Fitzgerald, requested that I place his web site link in the Resource section. I receive many requests like this every week and many do not fit the informational qualities I seek for that section. John's did not fit but I was immediately hooked! From my correspondence with John I cannot tell you much about John at this point or how he works but I am hoping he will reveal more on seeing this. I believe he is English, currently lives in Japan, and has travelled to Australia. See if you can see where I have picked up some of these clues from his web site and see why I am entranced with his art work. The tree image on Botanique's home page is also from John Fitzgerald's collection.

Another great artistic find!

Check out the wares on Sierra Nature Prints.

The owner/operator, Peggy Edwards-Carkeet is a freelance natural science illustrator. Besides her own work, she features work by other botanical illustrators whom she admires. Having dabbled at this type of illustrating in college I appreciate the diligence involved in Peggy's artform.

Awesome!

struggle to survive

Rufus Swain from Wilson Rose Garden sent the following photograph, showing the "Struggle to Survive." He encountered this wild flower growing in its rugged environment on a nature trail in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.

Rufus has recently sent in "War of the Rose" and "Baby Mockingbirds."

Thank you, Rufus, for sharing these great photos.
