Formerly the University Botanical Gardens, the Botanical Gardens at Asheville is an independent non-profit organization housing a collection of plants native to the Southern Appalachian Mountains. Walk around in the 10 acres of land near the UNC-A campus and discover our great biodiversity these mountains have to offer. Rare and common plants are displayed with common and botanic names throughout the garden. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated and memberships are encouraged. Our facilities are here for you to enjoy, from learning to identify native plants to holding your activities such as plant walks and weddings. Gift shop is open 9:30 am to 4 pm every day of the week from mid-March through mid-November.
